My 3rd Big Help Art Trophy in a row...

This year again I participated in a Drawing contest conducted by BigHelp on their annual meet to celebrate Pongal and Republic day Celebrations at Canton High School on Jan, 7, 2012. This year also I took BigHelp theme and did this drawing which won me 1st Prize in the category of 3rd and 4th graders.

The idea was to help kids in villages. A helping hand provides support with all educational needs of needy kids in villages sending them to school where kids learn, play and have fun together. This time the caption of my drawing was Education is the BIGgest HELP a kid can get!, by highlighting BIG HELP in it. I used color pencils this time.

Here is my trophy and Certificate:

My Dad was the first one to Congratulate me and said "Well done Bhuvan! You did it third time in a row". I asked, Is that a hat trick Dad? He replied, YES, it is!

Me receiving my Trophy and Certificate:
It was an all day fun event. I also participated in Spelling Bee and Mat Bee, but I have never been serious about those competitions. I also did a dance in the cultural programs. At the end I had so much of fun with all my friends.
I also won second prize at their last year celebrations. Check it here.

I won coloring context at my school...

I won coloring contest at my School out of 400 contestants. My class screamed when they heard my name on the speaker. Some of my friends even told me that they knew I was going to win the contest. When I told my Dad, he gave me a BIG HUG. I got $10 to choose books from the book fair at my School. I bought Japanese erasers and the following two books (one for me and one for my brother Rithvik) and with that money.

Now I will have to practice and learn fast 'How to draw Bakugan'. I already did one and I will post it soon.

New Year with a new Art Trophy…

I am back this year with another Art trophy. Yesterday we went to the Sankranti and Republic Day event organized by BigHelp in Boston area. I participated in Art contest and won 1st prize for my Sankranti drawing. I did one on the same subject last year in TAGB Sankranti celebrations which won me 1st prize. This time I made few changes and did the same but little different.

Last time it was based on what I learned from my Dad describing me how they used to celebrate Sankranti in their village Damaramadugu when he was a kid of my age. This time I added a Family, and a Happy home in a village celebrating the festival of joy, colors and harvesting.

When I saw all other kids’ works, I wasn’t sure if I would win 1st place this time. There were several good ones. But, my efforts delighted me again and won the 1st prize. I took the trophy on the stage along with other winners. I was telling my Dad after coming home that my hands were sweating when I was standing on the stage. I was really excited and started feeling the Joy of Winning.

Thanks to BigHelp organization for giving kids an opportunity to show their talents.

I also did a Bhangra Dance with my brother Rithvikand friends Nilay, Sridhar and Dhiren at this event. I love Hadippa song and will post my video next time.

My First ever prticipation in a Drawing Contest...

I participated in a Drawing Contest conducted by Telugu Association of Greater Boston (TAGB) on the occasion of Sankranthi Celebrations (a festival of harvesting) and won First Prize for my above drawing. I am very happy and just want to share this moment with my family and friends.

I enjoyed the competition and it was great to know the very special festival: Sankranthi. My Dad told me all about the festival and how it used to be celebrated during his childhood days. I could visualize the festival and felt like it is a great fun for Kids. I hope I will experience this festival in India in my future.
